Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 16, 2026

PermitGuard ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Blupine LLC and provides the PermitGuard application and related services (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using PermitGuard, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Name and email address (provided during registration via email/password or Google authentication)
  • Account credentials (hashed password for email accounts; Google-managed credentials for Google sign-in)
  • Billing and subscription information (plan selection, subscription status, and purchase history)
  • Project data, including construction drawings (PDFs) and metadata such as project name, address, city, state, and project type that you upload for analysis

Payment Information: All payment transactions are processed by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your full credit card or payment details.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and device information
  • Usage data (pages visited, features used, timestamps)
  • Server log data related to system performance and debugging

1.3 AI-Generated Data

PermitGuard processes your uploaded construction drawings using third-party AI service providers to generate:

  • Compliance analysis and scoring
  • Identified issues and recommendations per discipline (architectural, structural, MEP, etc.)
  • Structured reports derived from uploaded documents

These outputs are stored on our servers and associated with your account. By uploading documents, you acknowledge that their content will be transmitted to third-party AI service providers for processing. Those providers are contractually restricted from using your data for purposes beyond delivering the requested service.

1.4 Payment Processing

All payment transactions — including monthly subscription charges and any metered overage usage — are handled by Stripe. Payment details are entered directly into Stripe's secure systems and are not stored or processed on our servers.

We may receive limited information from Stripe, including:

  • Customer ID
  • Subscription and billing status
  • Payment confirmation (successful or failed transactions)
  • Metered usage records for overage page billing

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Process and analyze uploaded construction drawings using AI
  • Improve system performance and user experience
  • Manage user accounts and authentication
  • Process subscriptions, analysis purchases, and billing
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, and billing notices) via AWS Simple Email Service (SES)
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data.

3.1 Service Providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate our platform:

  • Cloud infrastructure provider — servers, file storage, and transactional email delivery
  • AI service provider(s) — processing of uploaded documents for compliance analysis
  • Payment processor — payment processing and subscription management (Stripe)
  • Authentication provider — optional third-party sign-in (Google)

These providers only access data as necessary to perform their services on our behalf.

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to:

  • Comply with applicable laws or legal process
  • Enforce our terms and policies
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of PermitGuard, our users, or others

3.3 Business Transfers

  • Uploaded files are stored on AWS S3 with access controls
  • Passwords are stored as salted hashes (bcrypt); we never store plaintext passwords
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel
  • Connections to the Service use TLS encryption in transit

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce agreements

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at contact@permitguard.ai.

7. Third-Party Services

PermitGuard integrates with third-party services for authentication, payment processing, cloud infrastructure, and AI-powered document analysis. Each of these services is governed by its own privacy policy, and we are not responsible for their data practices. Where required, we maintain data processing agreements with these providers to ensure your data is handled appropriately.

8. AI and Automated Processing Disclaimer

  • Results are generated automatically and may not be error-free
  • Outputs should be independently reviewed and verified by qualified professionals
  • The Service does not replace professional judgment or official municipal review
